My professional education began in 1991 when I began a BFA degree
in music from Edinboro University of Pennsylvania. In 1997 I returned to Edinboro and completed courses to become a
certified teacher in Pennsylvania.
I taught for one year in Erie City Public Schools along with
drumline rehearsals with several marching bands and drum corps. I also began a five year career performing
with the recording group fp503 before moving to Baltimore. Upon my arrival, I completed the certification requirements
to be a quilified educator in Maryland and made my way into the local blues and R&B scene.
For six years I taught elementary music in the Baltimore County
Public School System until the birth of my second son in 2004. In 2005 I have been active in the Vic Firth Education Team and will join the Mapex Learning Advatage in 2006. I teach private percussion lessons in Baltimore and at Coffey Music in Westminster, MD as well as performing across the Mid-Atlantic
region.
